August 2
3rd day of our journey to Bodo, Norway. Yesterday we drove about 900km, and have that distance to cover again today. Don't know if we will however, since we're averaging 80km/h in the ol'Mercedes (who's been doing a great job so far, despite the odd funny noise now and again)
The Norwegian countryside is stunningly beautiful. It seems like an amalgamation of places previously seen. In parts, it could've been Scotland in the highlands, but other parts were like the rolling hills of upstate New York, with crags jutting out of the terrain, yet at times like the Canadian west coast, on the sea-to-sky highway, our views extending out into the fjords/sea as we were driving along a winding road at altitude. Absolutely wonderful.

Our original intention was to camp for free, but after a long day, we had trouble finding a spot though technically, by Norwegian law, it is legal to camp anywhere, on anyone's property even so long as it's 100m away from a building. The catch however is that Norway is a big rock, or otherwise covered in forests. So we went to a pay camping site, which was fine for us because they had facilities. The shower however was a pay shower - 10 Norwegian Crowns for 5 minutes of hot water, and we only had two 10 Crown coins. So, Tomek and I took 2.5 minutes each, and likewise with Piotr and Andzrej. The campsite was by a big river with rapids. So amazing to sleep outside beside a roaring river. We all wet the tents. No not really.

You moved from BC to Ontario in order to travel from a place like Ontario to a place like BC. I sense a theme... Nope, nope, it's slipped between my fingers.
